The RBI raised the interchange fee on each financial transaction at an ATM which will come into effect from August 1, 2021.
▪️ The last time fee change was revised was in August 2014
▪️ The increase is after consultations with ATP operators who have cited increase in cost of ATM maintenance
▪️ Customers will continue to be eligible for 5 free transactions (inclusive of financial and non-financial transactions) every month from their own bank ATMs
▪️ Customers are also eligible for free transactions (inclusive of financial and non-financial transactions) from other bank ATMs – 3 transactions in metro centres and 5 transactions in non-metro centres
