To facilitate smooth transition for families of Central Government Employees eligible for pension; the
-Government has simplified family pension rules.
-Provisional family pension will be immediately sanctioned on receipt of claim for family pension with death certificate of the deceased.
-Eligible family need not wait for completion of other formalities or procedural requirements.
-Facility extended in case of both Covid and Non-Covid related deaths.
-In case of employees who are retiring soon, the payment of provisional pension may be extended up to a period of one year from the date of retirement
-Provisions pension will be sanctioned with the concurrence of PAO (Pay and Accounts Office), after the approval by the Head of the Department of the office from which the person retires.
